The Origin of Newberry Springs

Before Mrs. Orcutt, Newberry Springs was simply known as Newberry. Find out how Springs was added and why.  Mrs. Orcutt was also the owner of the “Fastest Driveway in the World” built upon the insistence of First Lady, Ladybird Johnson.

Virtual Tour of Petroglyph Canyon

Petroglyphs can be hundreds or thousands of years old and are culturally sensitive artifacts. In effort to Document and Preserve these ancient treasures, we are offering a virtual tour to explore this historic location without endangering them, or risking your own safety trying to visit the site.

  1. Virtual Tours protect the location of sensitive or dangerous sites from looters or vandals.
  2. Virtual Tours respects the sacredness of culturally sensitive sites by not making a spectacle of them for the sake of tourism.

Newberry CSD Archive

The Newberry Community Services District was created by a vote of the community in 1957 and fundraisers built the community building.  This is an archived collection of documents over the history of the Newberry CSD.
